The Summer Rehab Project – Part 2

One of my summer projects was to recover the chair cushions for our outdoor furniture with this beautiful fabric I found earlier this Spring. It took me awhile to get to it – because I wanted to finish the kids shorts (that I started last summer) and a few other projects that had been hanging around first.

I decided to tackle it one night after the kids had gone to bed and it was quiet in the house (Greg was out of town). I think I ended up watching movies and sewing until about 3 in the morning several nights in a row finishing projects. Chief among them were the seat cushion covers. I was pleased with how they turned out.

I basically made a round envelope with the outdoor fabric (and black out fabric because it needed a lining). The envelope shape makes for easy removal and washing.
